I recently had the opportunity to experience the care provided at Birchwood Rehab during my mother’s stay for sub-acute rehab, and I couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who showed genuine concern for our well-being.
The medical care at Birchwood is exceptional. The team of nurses, aides and therapists demonstrated a high level of expertise and compassion throughout mom’s hip surgery aftercare and recovery journey. They were attentive to her needs and ensured that she received personalized care that contributed significantly to her improvement.
The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. We appreciated the efforts made to maintain a safe and welcoming environment. The therapy sessions were tailored to my mother’s specific needs, and we noticed improvements in her mobility.
Moreover, the staff went above and beyond to keep us informed about her progress and involved us in her care plan. Their communication was good, and they always took the time to address our questions and concerns either by phone or email.
Overall, our experience at Birchwood Rehab was incredibly positive. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone seeking sub-acute rehab services. Additionally, we were pleased to discover that Birchwood offers private-pay respite stays, providing flexibility and peace of mind for families needing short-term care options. Thank you to the entire team at Birchwood for their dedication and exceptional care. A special shout-out to Mr. Lew and the staff in Wing 5.
My mom is 92 years old and this is not her first rodeo at rehab. Birchwood Manor has the best top-notch nursing staff and doctors that I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend them for your loved ones. They really care, everyone of their staff is wonderful. They have three separate shifts and I’ve met every shift and they are all top-notch.
My grandmother has been in the facility for over 6 months and I must say that I am pleased with the attention and care the staff has provided her. Jen, the DON, has been very helpful by answering all my questions and has even provided me with her contact number.
It’s always a pleasure going into the building. Staff is super friendly and the business office is super helpful from the beginning of the process to the very end.
My father was at Birchwood for over a month, two separate times recently. Jennifer Bryans is the nurse manager and she is very easy to talk to and very caring with the patients and their families. There are so many good people there. My father was in Wing 5 recovering from a UTI and a concussion the first time and a hip replacement the second time. I can’t remember everyone and I feel bad about that, but there are so many good, compassionate, and loving people at Birchwood. Sondra is the activity director and she went above and beyond for all of her patients. She brought in snacks and drinks using her own money because she cares that much. She’d bring coffee and donuts and eat breakfast with some of her patients. She had tears in her eyes when my dad left! Mark is very happy, lively, and friendly with everyone. Marie Paul is one of the kindest people you will ever meet! Roxy is hard-working, professional, and friendly. I wish I could remember every person’s name and shout them out. Give people a chance. It’s a very emotional time for families. The staff at Birchwood works very hard under difficult circumstances every single day.
Love this place. My sister & Auntie have been here for a while now, and we love this place! The staff goes up and out there way to make sure our love ones are cared for. We give them 5 stars because that exactly what they are!
Our family was searching for a rehabilitation and nursing facility for our loving family member. She became paralyzed after six major strokes all within five months and now requires personal all day assistance. We started looking for supportive facilities and found a wonderful place called Birchwood Rehab located in Cranford, New Jersey. We set up an appointment and they met all our expectations for my sister, which was amazing. Once she arrived, the staff was so supportive, understanding and called us immediately of any changes which was done by the Head Nurse, Daphne, in section area 3 and her team which deserves special recognition. She was a Godsend for our sister, and our family which meant the world to us.
I have already recommended Birchwood Rehab to all my friends, colleagues and church members. I can’t thank them enough for all the stellar support and rehabilitation they provided to my sister and our family.
Blessings to you all.
My experience with Birchwood and their staff has been first-rate. My Mom who is 97 has been there for over three years and My Dad who was also 97 had been there two years. Together they were celebrating 73 years of marriage and 75 years together until my Dad’s sudden passing this past Monday. RIP Dad!
The room my parents lived in was spacious, well kept and as good as anything you would see in any type of senior living including Assisted Living Centers. The most important thing though that stands out about Birchwwod is the true, caring nature of their staff and the Administration. They honestly care about their residents. The outpouring of sympathy when my Dad passed was overwhelming. The Administration was even willing to accommodate requests for special care that were made by my Dad for my Mom just minutes before passing away. Special thanks to the Administration – Jeff, CT and LaShanda and the superb caretakers and medical professionals – Lydia and Roxy to name just a few. Also very appreciative of a personal call from Ocea (sorry if spelled wrong) who called to express her condolences on my Dad’s passing. They are not just a senior living factory but are truly representative of the type of care that should exist everywhere for our loved ones. Highly recommended.
My aunt whom I care for recently had a fall at home was hospitalized and then recommended to go to a rehab center to get her back on her feet. I toured many facilities and once I walked into birchwood my decision was easily made. From the tour of the facility, to the cleanliness, and the warm welcome I received from staff. They were very delightful and made me very much at ease that my aunt would be ok and receive the best care! Well she did and is now back home on her feet! Special thanks to all the staff at birchwood. YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!
The staff is super welcoming, I felt right at home as soon as I walked through the front doors.
I want to shout out to Debbie the administrator of Birchwood Rehab for the outstanding job she does. She goes up and beyond all the time and comes in on Saturday & Sundays. I think she’s an outstanding administrator.
My husband was in the rehabilitation facility for 3 weeks after surgery. The nursing staff did an excellent job as did the therapists. The people I dealt with were friendly and competent (front desk, social worker, nurses, unit manager, admissions director, therapists). I found the place to be clean. All in all it was a positive experience.
My mother was a patient there in the rehabilitation side. I give 5 stars for many reasons. The nurses were a+ always helpful, when mom asked for anything it was done immediately, it was also super clean all the time. The physical therapists were nothing less the awesome they treated her with respect and helped her get healthy to leave. The Doctors spoke in everyday language so we could understand what was happening. The social workers worked extremely hard to make sure her needs were met when she went home. I wish I could stay there a few days. All in all I`m sorry if your experience wasn`t the same as ares. Also be patient with the facility with covid becoming a huge problem again.
Great care and the management is excellent. The administrator and admissions person were very kind to me during this hard time. They also have a great rehab team and beautiful courtyard.
My mother had excellent care here for the last 2 months of her life. She was going there for long-term care but when the facility discovered that she could be skilled and that she might have a chance to go home, they did everything they could to increase her strength and gave her extensive rehab, opening the possibility that she might be able to be discharged. The food is good and that was a big plus in helping her build some momentum as well. There was diligent attention paid to her needs and careful monitoring, with updates as needed or whenever we called in. The compassion she received was matched by the skills personnel possessed in every way. I was thankful to have found this place for her as another place had messed up and made it all the harder for us to get her health back. They were accommodating when it came to setting her up with snacks that we brought in, and though she was on Medicaid/Medicare, I actually felt she received the kind of care a private pay patient would have received. As disappointed as I am that in the end she was not able to regain enough strength to go home, I will always be at peace about having made this choice for her care.
Nurses and aides are super helpful and nice. Food is ok. Rooms are very clean. Physical therapy was excellent. Administrator is extremely helpful and go out of her way to solve problems.
